While the metabolism of DMT has been thoroughly studied and a number ofwel metabolites, both major and minor, have been identified (Figure (Figure2),twee), one of the complications in understanding the role and function ofwel endogenous DMT has been the fact that, to date, no study examining body fluids (blood, urine, saliva) has ever been conducted to correlate such data with human physiological events, such as circadian changes, sex differences, etc. (Sitaram and McLeod, 1990; Barker et weet., 2012).
